We'll all remember where we were when we heard the weather reports
calling Sandy "The Perfect Storm". A thousand miles wide and the most
severe weather Long Island had seen since 1938, Sandy ripped through the
area with little regard for anyone or anything in its path. What has
come since that Fall day on November 29, 2012 is nothing short of a
miracle. With record storm surges, weeks long electrical outages and the
looming gasoline shortage, we were all left in the wake of Sandy.
Stories came in by the hundreds of survival and how our local community
helped serve those in need. While these stories are fresh in our minds
now, we must never forget that we are indeed living today what will be
history tomorrow. This site will serve as a place we can all remember...
Where were you? What was happening before, during and in the aftermath
of the hurricane? What stories do you have to tell the next generation?
